Morphology and DNA marker for distinguishing Paphiopedilum hangianum and Paphiopedilum emersonii from Vietnam

چکیده
Genus Paphiopedilum has species having lovely flowers which are incredibly attractive to everyone. Their ornamental and commercial value caused over-collection illegal poaching trade. Due these reasons, nowadays, the Venus slipper orchids facing deplete in nature. Therefore, it is important consider conservation. Mainly, necessary prioritize identification phylogenetic analysis methods of genus includes many with similar morphological characteristics. Consequently, isn't easy distinguish identical this when plants young or not yet fully flowering. study aimed two species, i.e. P. hangianum emersonii, have characteristics, through comparative differences DNA barcoding sequences. To solve problem associated identifications, a comparison table was created four sequence markers matK, rbcL, rpoC1 trnH-psbA. The results showed that emersonii significantly different from each other flower's While difference leaf morphology both selected found very little, also distinguishable upon careful comparison. Moreover, indicator gave accurate rapid distinctions between even without flowers. Furthermore, can establish an evolutionary relationship Paphiopedilum. suggested trnH-psbA suitable marker for distinguishing be applied Vietnam.

Promise and Challenge of DNA Barcoding in Venus Slipper (Paphiopedilum)
Orchidaceae are one of the largest families of flowering plants, with over 27,000 species described and all orchids are listed in CITES. Moreover, the seedlings of orchid species from the same genus are similar. The objective of DNA barcoding is rapid, accurate, and automated species identification, which may be used to identify illegally traded endangered species from vegetative specimens of P...

Paphiopedilum armeniacum is level-one protected species. As the original habitat destruction, Paphiopedilum armeniacum is at the brink of extinction now. In order to monitor the environment of the endangered plants such as Paphiopedilum armeniacum, to master the real-time changes of their environment factors such as temperature, humidity, light intensity, the design is based on AT89C51, regarde...
متن کاملA preliminary study on conservation genetics of an endangered orchid (Paphiopedilum micranthum) from southwestern China.
Knowledge about genetic diversity and population genetic structure is a good baseline for formulating effective conservation plans, and can often provide novel, conservation-relevant insights (Avise, 1996; Geburek, 1997; Hamrick and Godt, 1996). An effective conservation strategy for a species can be made only after detailed population genetic information becomes available (Hamrick and Godt, 19...
متن کاملPhytochrome and blue light-mediated stomatal opening in the orchid, paphiopedilum.
Guard cells of the orchid genus, Paphiopedilum have been reported to lack developed chloroplasts and detectable chlorophyll a autofluorescence. Paphiopedilum stomata lack a photosynthesis-dependent opening response but have a blue light-specific opening. The present study found that low fluence rate green and red light elicited stomatal opening in Paphiopedilum and this opening was reversed by ...

A role of the guard cell chloroplasts in the CO(2) response of stomata was investigated through a comparison of the leaf gas exchange characteristics of two closely related orchids: Paphiopedilum harrisianum, which lacks guard cell chloroplasts and Phragmipedium longifolium, which has chlorophyllous guard cells. Leaves of both species had an apparent quantum yield for assimilation of about 0.05...
